What are Country Gravel Tours?
Tours are curated gravel adventures exploring some of South Africa’s most beautiful countryside, combining incredible gravel roads, mountain climbs, unique places, good food and memorable stays.
Who are the tours for?
Our tours are for riders who enjoy exploring, climbing and spending time on a gravel bike. Each tour has its own distance, elevation and difficulty, which will be shared before booking.
What type of bike do I need?
A gravel bike is recommended for tours. Your bike should be well maintained and suitable for the terrain and distance of the specific adventure. E-Bikes & Mountain bikes are frowned upon but welcome.
How difficult are the tours?
Every tour is different. Some are relaxed explorations, while others are built around long distances and serious climbing. We provide the approximate distance, elevation and difficulty so you know what to expect.
How do we know the route?
All routes are carefully planned in advance, with permission secured for access to private land. You’ll be accompanied throughout the ride by our experienced team, including certified guide and first aider. A fully equipped backup support vehicle is also on hand throughout the route, ensuring you can focus on enjoying the ride.
How big are the groups?
We keep groups small to create a more personal experience and allow us to enjoy the places we visit without feeling like a large organized event.
What is included?
What's included will vary from tour to tour. Each tour will clearly outline accommodation, meals, activities, guiding and any other inclusions
Can I join on my own?
Absolutely. Our small-group tours are a great way to meet like-minded riders and experience new places. submit a booking and we will ensure you are paired with another individual once we have a group of atleast 5 riders.
Can I book a private tour?
Yes, we can create customized gravel experiences for groups, clubs, friends or private occasions.
If you wish to keep the booking private we require a minimum of 5 riders.
Is accommodation included?
Where accommodation is included, it will be clearly stated in the tour details. We aim to partner with unique accommodation venues that form part of the overall experience.
